Iveragh’s Lizards

As the most widespread reptile on Earth and the only reptile native to Ireland, the Common Lizard is a very special species. Although they hibernate throughout the cool winter months, sunny days from early spring until autumn bring them out to bask in the sun’s rays. They are well worth keeping an eye out for along Iveragh’s stone walls and earth banks, but also in our sand dunes, bogs, heath or uplands. Find out more about this species below:
