Discover Iveragh

Iveragh’s scenic towns, villages and landscapes are complimented by the International Dark Sky Reserve and the plant and animal communities that change with the seasons. Iveragh is also known for its trailblazers, from the first four-legged vertebrates to walk on land, known as tetrapods, to historical figures and pioneers like Maude Delap.

Spring on Iveragh is a treat - before the crowds arrive, birdsong is increasing, the trails and beaches are uncrowded, the skies are starry and the peninsula’s wildflowers are bursting into bloom.

Iveragh boasts historical monuments, fascinating plants and animals, a rich geological history and the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve.

Life on the peninsula is still, in many ways, linked to the environment – the landscape is shaped by traditional farming practices, the Irish language is cherished along with its folklore and people here are deeply connected to their place.

On Iveragh, there is always something new to discover and somewhere else to explore.
